
Henri Monjauze Vice Chairman
Henri Monjauze has over 50 years experience in the insurance industry and has worked on both the insurance carrier and broker sides of the business. He has been involved in all lines of business, from employee benefits and life to property & casualty. In 1996, after nine years as a sole proprietor, he joined Levin, Knox and Company, and became a partner and minority shareholder when they merged with Albert M. Bender & Co. in 1975. This large, regional insurance broker focused on full service commercial accounts and in 1978 was acquired by Bache Insurance Services of NY. He was Senior Vice-President responsible for U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned parent companies (France, Italy, Philippines, Iran, Spain, etc.). Between 1981 and 1988, he was the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (with reporting responsibility for all departments except actuarial services and internal audit) for Civil Service Employees Insurance Group (CSE), an insurance company focused primarily on personal lines insurance. He served on CSE's Board of Directors for 5 years. He later left CSE to join Wells Fargo Insurance Services (formerly Acordia, Inc.), the world's 5th largest insurance brokerage, where he served as Vice-President of Sales and Service for his commercial business clients. Since 2007, he has been Vice-Chairman of Duler & Co. He is a Licensed Agent for all lines of insurance, State of California.
Leslie Huang Administration and Accounting Manager
Leslie has over 20 years finance and accounting experience in operations, analysis, and transactions. After earning a BBA in accounting from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School, Leslie specialized in mergers and acquisitions at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Merrill Lynch, and Republic New York. She then joined Montgomery Securities' medical venture capital group, responsible for investor reporting, regulatory compliance, and deal structuring. In 1998, Leslie joined startup more.com and was instrumental in raising over $85M of equity and debt financing. Since 2000, Leslie has been an independent consultant focused on operations and internal controls. Representative clients include Rainin Instrument, Cell Genesys, Nuvelo, Frank Rimmerman & Co., IDG Ventures, and Duler & Co. In 2009, she joined Duler and Company as Manager of Finance, Accounting and Administration. She is a licensed Fire and Casualty Insurance Agent, State of California.
Michael Lamperd Benefits Manager
In his position as the Benefits Manager, Michael Lamperd is in charge of employee benefits consulting, design, marketing, implementation and servicing of our clients' employee benefit programs. Michael brings with him over 30 years of benefits experience. He has held positions with Willis, an international brokerage firm, and MOC, a national brokerage firm. Prior experiences include Claims Manager for a large Taft-Hartley trust, operations manager for EBP Health Plans (a TPA), and operations manager for United Healthcare Administrators. Michael has a BA from the University of Minnesota, and holds a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation in Administrative Management from the Life Office Management Association. Other certifications include Associate, Life and Health Claims (ALHC) from the International Claims Association and Health Insurance Associate (HIA) from the Health Insurance Association of America. He has completed part of the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist curriculum. He is a licensed Life and Health Agent, State of California.
Sarah Hanson Account Manager, Commercial Business
Sarah Hanson is a Client Services Representative, focused on commercial accounts. She has prior experience in agent licensing with ING and underwriting commercial Property & Casualty business for GuideOne Insurance, Des Moines, Iowa. Sarah holds an MBA specializing in International Business from Pepperdine University. During her International MBA program, Sarah studied abroad at Euromed-Marseille Ecole de Management and completed an internship with Landor Associates in Paris, France. Sarah has her B.A. in International Business and French from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. She is a licensed Fire and Casualty Insurance Agent, State of California.
Steven Lew Assistant Account Manager, Commercial Business
Steven is an Assistant Account Manager, focused on commercial business. While studying in San Diego, Steven worked as a Bookkeeper for a small insurance agency and as a Project Manager for the Anagnostaras Molecular Cognition Lab. In the fall of 2008, Steven studied abroad in China where he also completed an internship with Adecco, Shanghai. Steven has a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
Mary Van Note Administrative Assistant
As Administrative Assistant, Mary Van Note offers support to the entire Duler & Co. staff. Mary Van Note graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Literature and most recently was an Executive Assistant at Frank Shamrock, Inc. a sports marketing and intellectual asset management company. She co-authored the book Mixed Martial Arts For Dummies which was released by Wiley Publishing in April 2009.
