Henri Monjauze, Vice Chairman
Henri Monjauze left us in June 2010. He had over 50 years experience in the insurance industry and had worked on both the insurance carrier and broker sides of the business. He had been involved in all lines of business, from employee benefits and life to property & casualty. In 1996, after nine years as a sole proprietor, he joined Levin, Knox and Company, and became a partner and minority shareholder when they merged with Albert M. Bender & Co. in 1975. This large, regional insurance broker focused on full service commercial accounts and in 1978 was acquired by Bache Insurance Services of NY. He was Senior Vice-President responsible for U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-owned parent companies (France, Italy, Philippines, Iran, Spain, etc.). Between 1981 and 1988, he was the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (with reporting responsibility for all departments except actuarial services and internal audit) for Civil Service Employees Insurance Group (CSE), an insurance company focused primarily on personal lines insurance. He served on CSE's Board of Directors for 5 years. He later left CSE to join Wells Fargo Insurance Services (formerly Acordia, Inc.), the world's 5th largest insurance brokerage, where he served as Vice-President of Sales and Service for his commercial business clients. Since 2007, he had been Vice-Chairman of Duler & Co.
